For the 8th year since its establishment in 2009, JEMS Learning House congratulated its young students on their way to becoming “JEMS” – Junior Excellent Members of Society at the annual Graduation Ceremony on 25th June, which was also a Charity Carnival prepared by students aged between 3 and 12. With the theme “Share the Vision”, the joyful event at Run Run Shaw Hall, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine was dedicated to celebrating the fruitful learning outcomes of JEMS’ Character Education, as well as supporting the work of Ebenezer School & Home for the Visually Impaired with HKD80,000 raised.

The Graduation Ceremony began with a welcoming speech by Prof Christine Ma-Lau, Principal and Founder of JEMS Learning House. Ms Polly Fu, Representative and Social Worker of Ebenezer School & Home for the Visually Impaired, was then invited onstage to accept the cheque for the donation of HKD80,000, officially kicking off the Charity Carnival for all students, parents and guests to enjoy. The venue was populated by a variety of game booths and charity sale stalls of handcrafted souvenirs, which were run by students serving as volunteers, showing their communication skills and organisation competency. Meanwhile some students went onto the stage in turn to give their performances and receive their graduation certificates, making it another memorable day for all participating families.

Prof Christine Ma-Lau, Principal and Founder of JEMS Learning House, shared, “It is our utmost delight to witness how our students thrive at the Graduation Ceremony. Nothing gives us more joy than seeing how their months of efforts helped to make the annual Charity Carnival a great success. We are very pleased to cooperate with Ebenezer School & Home for the Visually Impaired and support its work. Just like our theme ‘Share the Vision’ suggests, it is our hope that all JEMS’ students could be reminded to care for people in need in the community, and put the good characters that they learn at JEMS into practice to benefit the society!”

The upcoming JEMS Annual Programme is now open for application. To sign up for free trial classes, please call 3188 1516.
