(香港‧2013年1月12日) 小朋友喜愛農曆新年固然因為可以「“逗”利是」，但今年還多了一項溫馨原因 – 他們可以透過紅封包設計，向親友以至公眾表達關懷。

香港紅十字會於2012年9至10月舉行「傳‧心‧願」紅封包設計比賽，讓小朋友發揮創意，設計獨一無二的紅封包，宣揚關愛和人道精神。比賽反應熱烈，共收到來自28間學校及畫室的逾1,000份參賽作品。當中9 份得獎設計被印製成紅封包，作新春慈善義賣之用；籌得的善款將全數支持本會新總部大樓重建計劃。

為嘉許得獎小朋友的設計和心意，香港紅十字會今日舉行「傳‧心‧願」紅封包設計比賽頒獎禮，並由食物及衛生局副局長陳肇始教授,JP，以及本會副主席暨新總部大樓重建計劃籌款委員會主席胡郭秀萍女士,JP擔任主禮嘉賓。

一眾嘉賓及比賽評審向各級組別共55位得獎小朋友，頒發獎狀以示嘉許。評審之一亦身兼本會新總部大樓重建計劃籌款委員會成員的李徐子淇女士，在典禮上分享感受：「小朋友的作品都很有心思。這個活動集合小朋友的小小愛心和祝福去幫人，感覺好溫暖。而且小朋友最喜歡畫畫，如果可以鼓勵他們一邊繪畫表達自己，一邊構思如何幫人，就倍添意義。」李太更鼓勵小朋友於新一年實踐自己寫下的助人心願。

校園大使王梓軒先生同場獻唱，以歌聲鼓勵得獎小朋友，而且更幫忙宣傳紅封包義賣。一套10款的紅封包設計來自插畫家徐羨曾先生及9位得獎小朋友。他指出:「各幅別具心思的參賽作品都充分反映今次比賽的主題 -- 愛與關懷，例如中級組冠軍的設計便是香港紅十字會的義工與服務對象手牽手，宣揚愛心，很有意義。」

典禮上，各嘉賓手持寫上祝福語的紅封包大吉，高掛在慈善大桔樹上，預早跟在場的家長及小朋友拜年，同時代表各位善長仁翁誠心祝願，喻意為各人及本會帶來幸福，祝願本會延展人道服務，幫助更多有需要的人。

有關「香港紅十字會新總部大樓重建計劃」
香港紅十字會近年因應社會的需求，服務持續發展，為配合發展需要，以及政府對本會總部現址有新的規劃，遂於2011年展開新總部大樓重建計劃。新總部大樓座落西九龍，預計2014/15年度落成，樓高11層，將成為一站式人道服務平台，設有支援及推展捐血、人道教育、青少年制服團隊、急救及健康護理訓練、義工發展、賑災等各範疇的設施。

(Hong Kong 12 January 2013) Children love Lunar New Year largely because it is the unique time for collecting red packets from adults. This year, Hong Kong children will have one more good reason for loving the festival – they can design their unique Red Packets to show love and care to their loved ones as well as members of the public!

The Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) held the "Blessing of Love Red Packet Design Competition" from September to October 2012. It aimed at encouraging children to disseminate the humanitarian spirit of love and care through red packet designs. More than 1,000 entries were received from 28 schools and art studios. HKRC has used the 9 winning entries to produce red packets for charity sale. Proceeds raised will be used to support the HKRC New Headquarters Redevelopment Project.

Professor Sophia CHAN, JP, Under Secretary for Food and Health, and Mrs Ivy WU, JP, Deputy Chairman of HKRC cum Chairman of Fundraising Committee for the HKRC New Headquarters Redevelopment Project, officiated the Award Presentation Ceremony today.

A total of 55 children-painters were presented awards by the Competition judges and honourable guests . One of the judges Mrs Cathy LEE, who is also Member of Fundraising Committee for the HKRC New Headquarters Redevelopment Project, said all the entries were very unique, “It is a heart-touching event as it gathers kids’ blessings and love for helping those in need. Children love drawing. It is thus most meaningful to encourage them to express themselves through drawing, and at the same time to think about how they can help others. ” She also encouraged children to put their New Year wishes of caring people into practice.

Mr Jonathan WONG, School Ambassador of the Campaign, performed singing to express gratitude to all awardees. He also helped promoting the Red Packets Charity Sale. The designs of the the 10 red packets in each set are based on the 9 winning entries, together with a master piece by our guest designer Mr TSUI Sin Tsang. “Every design demonstrates well the Competition’s theme of Love and Care. For example, the Champion entry of the Intermediate Division depicts HKRC volunteers holding hands with the service recipients – a vivid reflection of the message of love and joy,” he said.

At the ceremony, guests wrote their unique New Year’s wishes on Red Packet Mandarins and hang them on a Charity Mandarin Tree to deliver blessings to all. They also offered HKRC the blessing of further extending our humanitarian platform to help more people in need.

About Hong Kong Red Cross New Headquarters Redevelopment Project:
The Hong Kong Red Cross New Headquarters Redevelopment Project, launched in 2011, is to accommodate rapid expansion of HKRC services in recent years in response to society changes and rising diverse needs, and simultaneously to match Government’s land use planning for the existing headquarters site. The New Headquarters in West Kowloon is scheduled for completion in 2014/15. The 11-storey new building will put under one roof different service units, including blood donation, humanitarian education, youth uniformed groups, first aid and health training, volunteer development and disaster relief.
